The Hawks' offense got going in the second quarter, scoring 17 points to put the locals ahead 25-11 heading into halftime. Sandy Valley battled back and outscored Hiland 8-7 in the third period, but the Hawks closed the game out with another 17 point quarter to ride home with the win.
Leading the offensive charge was McKenzie Miller, who had a game-high 19 points. Regina Hochstetler also was in double digit scoring with 12 points. Kendra Schlabach had a game-high four assists to go with a game-high seven rebounds for Hiland (7-1, 6-1).
