Another day, another Hiland district victory

The Hiland girls basketball team once again made a district basketball game look like child's play.

The Hawks hammered Frontier 74-38 at the Div. IV Gnadenhutten District to advance to the finals. The Hawks haven't lost at the district level since 2003. They've won nine -- handily -- since that time.

This time around the Hawks built a 12-point first quarter lead and worked from there. Junior Karli Mast tallied 18 points, while Jena Stutzman had 17 and seven assists. Post Kristi Yoder had 11 points, while point guard Hilary Weaver had 10.

The Hawks forced 26 turnovers, while giving it up just 11 times. The Hawks will play the Strasburg-Caldwell winner in the district final Friday.
