Hiland 83, Sandy Valley 21

Two nights removed from a rough visit by Garaway and an end to its 94-game winning streak in the Inter-Valley Conference, Hiland started a new streak with a pummeling of Sandy Valley.

The Hawks dominated virtually every phase of the game as they took their frustrations out on the Cardinals. Hiland outrebounded Sandy Valley 38-20, forced a 29-10 edge in turnovers, converted that into a 42-5 advantage in points off turnovers and watched as its bench outscored the Cardinals 37-5.

Pacing a balanced attack that saw four different players reach double figures was Gabby Fowler with 14 points and three steals. Netting 13 points was Jena Stutzman, 12 came from Katelyn Stuckey and Mykeila Mast was good for 11 for the Hawks. Kristi Yoder led Hiland with eight rebounds and Stutzman dished out a team-high six assists.
