The Hawks found themselves in a defensive battle in their opener, but Thursday against the Cardinals was another story. Hiland led 22-0 after one period and rolled from there in posting the 61-point victory. Eleven Hawks played and scored, but it only took one to outscore Sandy Valley as Jena Stutzman scored 32 points herself. Stutzman was a sizzling 15-of-19 from the field. Karli Mast chipped in 11 points and Layla Miller 10. Hiland forced SV into 42 turnovers. Courtesy The Daily Record, Wooster, Ohio |
