Hiland girls roll into district finals

Jena Stutzman continued her late-season surge and Hiland gradually pulled away from Caldwell in a Div. IV district semifinal Tuesday. Stutzman finished with 23 points, seven rebounds and five assists and the Hawks made 12 3-pointers, beating the Redskins 64-42 at Indian Valley High School.

Hiland, now 19-4, advances to the district championship game Friday night (7 pm). It will play the winner of tonight's St. John-Strasburg game at Indian Valley.

Jessica Stutzman added 11 points and Lydia Miller 10 points and six rebounds, as Hiland forced 22 turnovers and scored 23 points as a result. The Hawks, who assisted on 16 of 22 made baskets, led by six after one quarter, 11 at halftime and 16 after three.
