The state opened girls basketball tournament play Thursday, with two time defending Div. IV champion Hiland on the docket. The Hawks had little trouble against East Liverpool Christian, a first-year OHSAA sanctioned school.  East Liverpool Christian has eight players on its team, but only five were dressed for action.  Hiland led 66-6 after three quarters. Jena Stutzman hit 11-of-14 from the floor en route to a game-high 26 points, adding six steals and five defensive assists that led to ELC turnovers.  Hiland, which had just one turnover, stopped pressing before the first-quarter was over and ELC finished with 23 turnovers.  ELC made four 3-pointers for all their points. Karli Mast and Kristi Yoder added 10 points apiece for Hiland (17-4), with Yoder snaring eight rebounds. Courtesy The Daily Record, Wooster, Ohio | ||||||||
