Hiland remains unbeaten with win over Tusky Valley

Zoe Miller scored 19 points and grabbed 10 rebounds and Kyli Horn had 13 points as host Hiland rolled past Tusky Valley 64-35 in an Inter-Valley Conference South Division high school girls basketball showdown at the Reese Center Saturday afternoon.

The Hawks improved to 5-0 overall and 3-0 in the IVC, while the Trojans dropped to 2-2, 1-1.

Kelsey Swihart and Brynn Mullet each added eight points for the winners.

Ali Shane led Tusky Valley with 17 points, while Arora Levengood and Ashley Merrick added six points apiece.

Hiland led 17-6 after the opening quarter, 30-19 at the half and 49-28 heading to the final frame.

The Hawks made 25 of 59 shots from the field and 9 of 11 free throws, while the Trojans put in 14 of 41 action shots and 4 of 7 free throws.

Tusky Valley turned the ball over 26 times compared with 12 for Hiland.
