Hawks win season opener

Kennedy Schlabach's 19 points led four players in double figures as the Hawks flew past East Canton in the Inter-Valley Conference opener on Wednesday.
Morgan McMillan added 15 points, Angela Troyer 14, and Jessica Troyer 11 for Hiland, which shot 30 of 56 from the floor (53 percent).
Savannah Yacklin led the Hornets with 13 points.
