The Hiland Hawks haven't had a second quarter like the one they had against Wadsworth (ranked No. 6 in Div. I girls poll) in a long time. The host Grizzlies already led 17-10 after one period, then outscored the Hawks 27-9 in the next eight minutes to open a 44-19 lead at the break. Although Hiland outscored Wadsworth 18-17 in the second half, the damage was already done.

The Hawks, ranked No. 2 in Div. IV and now done with the regular season at 19-3, had just one girl reach twin digits as Regina Hochstetler finished with 12 points, getting most at the foul line where she was 7-of-8,

Rachel Goddard led three Grizzlies in double figures with 21 points. Wadsworth shot 58 percent from the field and scored 28 points off Hiland turnovers.
