The Hornets were nearly even with the Hawks at the half, trailing by just five at the break (27-22). The key was a 17-4 Hiland run in the third quarter that all but ended Malvern's hope of an upset.

Regina Hochstetler led Hiland with 16 points, including 6-for-11 shooting from the field and 2-for-2 from 3-point land. Megan Beachy was Hiland's other double-digit scorer with 11 as she was 3-of-6 from beyond the arc.

Jasmine Goings led the team with 12 rebounds.
