Hiland rebounds in style

The Daily Record

Hiland rebounded from its first Inter-Valley Conference loss last week, and ended a three-game losing streak to boot Wednesday night.

The unfortunate victim was IVC foe Malvern, and the host Hawks grabbed a double-digit lead early en route to building a 75-26 victory.

Hiland (9-4, 9-1) led 17-5 after a quarter, extending it to 39-15 at halftime, then outscoring the Hornets 36-11 in the second half.

Twelve Hawks made it into the scoring column, led by McKenzie Miller's 15 points. Emily Yoder added 11 points and three assists, while Regina Hochstetler and Benay Miller dropped in 10 points apiece.

Hiland was 10-of-20 on 3-pointers and forced 27 turnovers while turning it over just six times itself.
