BERLIN -- Noelle Yoder fired in 21 points and Hilary Weaver added 17 as host Hiland defeated Division I Mason 65-52 in high school girls’ basketball action as Classic in the Country VII concluded at the Perry Reese Jr. Community Center Monday night.

In the 20th and final game of the three-day event, the Hawks (11-1) bounced back from Saturday night’s loss to Potter’s House from Jacksonville, Fla.

Hiland led 12-10 after the opening quarter, 28-22 at the half and led by as many as 12 points before taking a 44-38 advantage into the fourth quarter.

Kayla Lamotte led Mason (7-5) with 21 points and Kayla McDowell added 16.

The Hawks were 19 of 23 from the free throw line for 83 percent.
