Hiland blasts Central Catholic

Hilary Weaver tied a state record with 21 assists last Saturday.  Noelle Yoder had 22 points and Hiland drubbed Central Catholic 86-15 in Inter-Valley Conference play at the Perry Reese Jr. Community Center.

With 21 assists, Weaver tied a Hiland single-game record.  The previous mark was set by Julie Weaver against Strasburg during the 1994-95 season.

Weaver added five points and five rebounds for Hiland (3-0, 3-0 IVC), which outscored Central Catholic 25-2 in the first quarter and led 49-5 at halftime.

The Lady Hawks who have conceded just 91 points (30.3 ppg) so far this season held a 37-10 scoring advantage in the second half.

McKenzie Miller scored 17 points for Hiland, while Katelyn Stuckey and Meagan Hall each had 11.  Jessica Stutzman just missed double figures with nine.

Hiland shot a solid 67 percent (35 of 51) from the field, 55 percent (11 of 20) from 3-point range and 83 percent (5 of 6) from the line.

Central Catholic was paced by Millie Patchan with six points.  Madison Bonamico had five.

The Saints shot 24 percent (6 of 25) from the floor, 17 percent (1 of 6) from downtown and 67 percent (2 of 3) from the foul line.
