The Lady Hawks put on a devastating display of long-range firepower Saturday, Jan. 9, dropping nine 3-point bombs on Sandy Valley en route to a 75-29 pasting of the Cardinals in an Inter-Valley Conference matinee at the Perry Reese Jr. Community.
McKenzie Miller and Noelle Yoder hit four triples apiece to lead the assault. Miller finished with 20 points and Yoder added 18 to pace the Hiland attack.
Jessica Stutzman was perfect from the field, knocking down all six shots fired up, including a 3-pointer on her way to 17 points.
Hiland jumped out to a 17-4 lead after the first quarter and extended its lead to 42-9 at intermission.
A 25-5 blitz in the third quarter had the hosts comfortably ahead 67-14 after three quarters as the girls rolled to their ninth win of the season without a loss.
Hiland's defense forced the Cardinals into 30 turnovers, leading to several easy baskets.
Hilary Weaver and Katelyn Stuckey chipped in five points apiece. Weaver also doled out eight assists, while Stuckey ripped down eight rebounds, including three on the offensive end.
Regan Miller and Arrianna Schrock chipped in with four points apiece and Meagan Hall rounded out the assault with two points.
