The March to Columbus began for Hiland and what a way to start. The Hawks showed they are taking no prisoners in their pursuit of a state title with a near-blanking of Toronto to open sectional play.
Hilary Weaver netted a team-high 17 points, grabbed six boards and dished out three assists to help Hiland set the tone. The Hawks played without standout Noelle Yoder.
Also helping Weaver out were McKenzie Miller with 15 points and four boards, Kendra Schlabach, who added 12 points and handed out five helpers, and Regan Miller, who pulled down a team-high eight caroms.
