There is very little that Hiland hasn't seen thrown at it as it charges through another campaign with eyes set on a state title. Garaway just added to that with a slow down, take-your-time approach that still resulted in the Pirates being stranded by the high-flying Hawks.

Hiland used its suffocating defense to force a 16-8 edge in turnovers and converted that into a 13-2 advantage in points off turnovers. Hilary Weaver led the locals with 17 points and Noelle Yoder finished with 10 points, a team-high five rebounds and dished out three assists.

With Thursday's win, the Hiland girls won the Inter-Valley Conference title outright.
