Executing Hiland-style basketball was the name of the game as the Hawks hit the court in the Perry Reese Center against Inter-Valley Conference foe Sandy Valley. The locals used a stout defense to create a 30-13 advantage in turnovers and then converted that into a 41-12 edge in points off turnovers in running their record to 9-0 overall and 8-0 in the IVC.
McKenzie Miller led the Hawks with a 20-point, three-rebound, three-assist, three-steal effort, as she knocked down four shots from downtown. Also performing strong were Noelle Yoder and Jessica Stutzman with 18 and 17 points each, while Hilary Weaver dished out a team-high eight assists and Katelyn Stuckey pulled down a team-leading eight rebounds.
