Hawks win first non-league game

Good teams win even when they're not at their finest. In an uncharacteristic performance, Hiland girls basketball's dynamic twin duo of Leah and Launa Hochstetler combined for just 10 points against River view on Monday, but it made no difference, as the Hawks rolled.

Hiland (9-0, 8-0 IVC) actually trailed 9-7 after the first quarter in its first non-league contest of the year, but quickly made up for that by posting 8-2 and 21-4 spurts over the next two stanzas.

The Hawks were led by Lindsay Stuckey's 14 points, while Lydia Miller added 11 points and seven boards.
